SHIRE WARD RESIDENTS WANT A TIDIER TOWN

While speaking to residents in Old Mill Road, an issue was highlighted to me with the quality of footways in the back alleys around Angsar and Pennystone Roads, where the paths were heavily worn, eroded, and had been littered with garden waste. Residents said while these areas were once looked after by the Council, they had fallen into disrepair some years ago and have been ignored.

The issue of litter in and around area was again brought up, residents said they hadn’t seen anyone from the Council in some time, and said it has defaulted to a position where it was being left to local residents to clear up.

Another problem highlighted was again the issues with potholes (one in Old Mill Road pictured above). As a ward Councillor I will do my best to pressure Highways into making repairs. I will walk the ward regularly  and speak to residents about highways issues.
